Daniel is the principal author of the current statutory definition of 'financial abuse.'
Daniel D. Murphy joined the Board in August 2005. Mr. Murphy has his own law practice handling primarily elder abuse litigation in the civil courts. He is the principal author of the current statutory definition of ‘financial abuse’ under relatively new statutes enacted to specifically protect elders from financial abuse, physical abuse and/or neglect. Furthermore, Mr. Murphy writes for a legal periodical on the subject of elder financial abuse litigation - California Elder Law Litigation: An Advocate’s Guide.
